After the resounding success of last year’s inaugural event, we are pleased to announce that we will be repeating our Bra Bunting spectacle and Pink Thursday in our town for a second year on 17 October 2013 right in the middle of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

This year pink bins have kindly been provided by the Bawtry Retail Association and over the coming weeks ladies from Bawtry and throughout the region are encouraged to donate old or unwanted bras along with a £2 monetary donation in aid of two worthy causes, Aurora and Breast Cancer Care.

Once all the bras from the pink bins which are situated not only in the boutique but in Robinson's of Bawtry, Elite Hair, The Crown Hotel, Jones & Co Solicitors, Etc., Bawtry Gym, One Call Insurance and the Breast Care Units at both Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals are collected on Thursday 17 October they will be strung together as ‘bra bunting’ and hoisted up at around 1:30pm in Bawtry aiming to beat last year’s total of 300 bras and stretching even further in distance than last year assisted by some of the players from both Doncaster Rovers and Doncaster Belles.

Also, our fellow members of Bawtry Retail Association will join in on ‘Pink Thursday’ by decorating their shops and businesses as brightly as they can. There will also special offers, pink fizz and balloons to celebrate Pink Thursday in style.

After the event, the bras will be collected by Katie Ogley of the Junior Chamber International, who support the Flamingo Foundation. They will send any bras still in a wearable condition to ladies in Africa and any bras past their best will be weighed and the monetary value will be donated instead.

Again, we are overwhelmed already by the support (pardon the pun) of local ladies and look forward to seeing as many of you as we can!!
